Information
about the tour:

The Sultanate of Oman is the only country in the Persian Gulf where one can see mountains and waterfalls, deserts and oases, and fully experience the intertwining of cultures that have come from Persia, Africa, India, and the Far East. Here ruled the Queen of Sheba, the biblical Job was buried, and Sinbad the Sailor began his voyages. For centuries, Oman has enchanted its explorers, among whom were Ibn Battuta and Marco Polo. The Sultanate of Oman has appeared to the world under various names, each time mystically presenting itself in a new guise. “Magan” (land of copper) – this is how the ancient Sumerians referred to it several millennia ago. Another name for this legendary land is “Mazun,” which means “land of clouds and heavy rains.” It was the rains that transformed it into a blooming oasis, drowning in the greenery of palm groves, surrounded by picturesque mountains and valleys reminiscent of African savannas. Oman is one of the few countries in the Middle East where modern civilization has not engulfed Arab identity, while still maintaining a high standard of living. Among the golden desert and refreshing oases lies a variety of palaces and museums, mosques and fortresses, castles, architectural monuments, and craftsmanship. Entire colorful settlements and cities still hold the secrets of ancient Oman!

Day 1

Arrival in the capital of Oman – the city of Muscat. Check-in at the hotel and the first walk around the city (depends on the arrival time).

Day 2

We start the day at our first location – Bima Sinkhole. This place is a picturesque, 20-meter deep sinkhole filled with seawater! The locals call it the "Devil's Eye." Here we can swim and even jump into the crystal-clear turquoise water.

Next, we will head to Wadi Shaab – an oasis of fairy-tale beauty, aptly named a "paradise." Lush vegetation, banana plantations, and a river gently flowing over stones, combined with picturesque cliffs and rocky paths, create an unforgettable sight. The lake is surrounded by fruit trees, the blue water is pierced by sunlight, and the sounds of your swimming or jumping into the water echo off the cliffs. Wadi Shaab is a wonderful place to relax. Here, we will swim plenty in the natural pools surrounded by cliffs. Here, in one of the green oases, we can have a picnic lunch.

If time allows, we will spend the rest of the day in the neighboring Wadi Tiwi valley.

At the end of the day, we check into the hotel.

Day 3

We wake up in the town of Sur, stroll along the coast of the Oman Gulf, and head inland to our first fort on the way. Al Mintarib is one of the oldest and coziest forts in this region. After exploring the fort area, we will head to Wadi Bani Khalid to cool off a bit. The green valley amidst bare rocks with its peculiar natural pools and the clearest turquoise water is a wonderful place for a refreshing swim.

The highlight of the day will be a visit to the Wahiba Desert. Here, Bedouins live, and it is here that you can fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the daily life of the desert-dwelling peoples. The stunning sunset and a night in a tent in the middle of the desert will provide unforgettable experiences for a long time! A night in the Omani Wahiba Desert is a pleasant silence, a velvet sky sprinkled with stars, and complete tranquility.

Day 4

In the morning we will wake up earlier and go to one of the dunes to greet the dawn. After that, we will have breakfast and head to Bahla Fort. This architectural masterpiece made of clay is a testament to the power of the Banu Nabhan tribe, which thrived here in the 12th-15th centuries. Bahla Fort is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After lunch, we will head to the Mountain of the Sun – Jebel Shams. The highest of Oman's mountain ranges – a true "Grand Canyon," whose views will turn any photograph into a masterpiece. Here you can see mountain goats wandering or resting near the ruins and abandoned village terraces.

Day 5

We will spend the first half of the day in the mountains of Oman and conquer its highest point, Jebel Shams, which literally means "Mountain of the Sun." The view from the top of the Grand Canyon is absolutely mesmerizing! The enormous black canyon seems to slice the mountain in half. The steep cliffs and the magic of the world's beginnings will leave you with an unforgettable impression!

After the canyon, we will head to see the most beautiful fort in Oman – Jabrin. This fortress can rightfully be called a palace. In the past, it was the residence of Imam Bil'arab from the Al Ya'ruba dynasty, who patronized science and art. In ancient times, Jabrin Castle was a source of inspiration for many Arab writers. Some were captivated by the powerful fortifications standing guard in the heart of the desert, while others were enchanted by the architecture of the palace, filled with unique beauty.

After visiting the castle, we will head towards the ancient capital of the Sultanate of Oman – the city of Nizwa. On the way, we will make a stop in the city of Bahla near Bahla Fort. On the eastern outskirts of the Bahla oasis stands an architectural masterpiece made of clay – a huge fort, a monument to the power of the Banu Nabhan tribe, which thrived in this region in the 12th-15th centuries. Bahla Fort is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as an "outstanding example of military architecture of the Sultanate of Oman."

Day 6

For a long time, the charming and cozy town of Nizwa in Oman has been the spiritual center of the Sultanate of Oman and the main stronghold for defending the interior regions of the country. Being the residence of imams, in the 18th century it was referred to as the "sacred Nizwa." Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman, previously a center of trade, religion, education, and art. In the 6th century AD, the city was the capital of Oman.

The fact that we will find ourselves in Nizwa on a Friday is not by chance. Every Friday for 3500 years, the most exciting spectacle takes place here – an animal auction. We will witness heated passions and hot Eastern trading.

After the market, we will visit the Nizwa Fortress – the most visited historical monument in Oman. In the Middle Ages, the formidable fort protected the former capital of Oman – Nizwa. Today, it is a vivid example of military architectural mastery from the era of the flourishing Omani Sultanate.

The second half of the day will be under the motto – off-road. From Nizwa, we will head to Muscat not by the usual road like all tourists, but through real off-road terrain in the mountains of Oman. It will be an unforgettable adventure with stunning views and hundreds of photographs. Believe me, this road will stay in your memory for a lifetime.

Day 7

One of the most beautiful cities of the Arabian Peninsula is rightly considered Muscat. It captivates with its amazing atmosphere, which emanates from the combination of rocky mountains, a picturesque bay, narrow streets, and ancient buildings. Muscat is the capital of Oman, a true oasis of culture and ancient historical values. It is an exceptionally unique city where traditional mosques coexist with modern business districts.

We will fully dedicate this day to the capital of the Sultanate of Oman!

We will start getting to know the city at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. It is the third largest mosque in the world, adorned with some of the largest handmade carpets and a Swarovski chandelier. Then, we will take a stroll by the Royal Opera House Muscat, and we will definitely visit the market, because you can't go anywhere without a market!

We will end the day with a walk along the waterfront and the Sultan's palace.

Day 8

This is where our exciting journey through the Sultanate of Oman comes to an end. We return the cars and head to the airport.
