Information
about the tour:

Homes on wheels are our passion, and you have probably seen tours in trailers to Iceland and Norway. Now we want to add Canada to this list. A country that seems to have been made for traveling in trailers. To be precise, its most beautiful part is the national parks of British Columbia and Alberta. As we move through them, you won't want to rush to any specific point, as every kilometer of our journey will be that very point! During our trip, we will visit the national parks: Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Glacier, and more. We will rent a canoe and paddle on an emerald glacial lake, and then switch to a specially prepared all-terrain vehicle and ascend to the glacier. After that, we will leave our homes on wheels, switch to a boat, and embark on a cruise on the incredible Maligne Lake. Along the way, we will be accompanied by dozens of waterfalls, blue lakes, and representatives of the local fauna. If we are lucky, we will see wild deer, raccoons, and, of course, grizzlies! We will spend the night in the most beautiful campgrounds amidst the pine forest, and before returning, we will stop to relax in the local thermal springs. The last day of our journey will be spent in Calgary, the host city of the 1988 Winter Olympics. We will have free time to get to know the city, buy souvenirs, and relax in a comfortable hotel before flying home.

CONSULTATION
Day 1

We meet at Calgary airport (at the agreed time), move to the hotel, leave our things and go for lunch or dinner. Everything will depend on the arrival time. I know everyone will be tired after the flight, but today we can't go to bed early if we don't want to fully feel the effects of jet lag in the morning) So after lunch, we will go to get to know the city.

Day 2

We have breakfast and head out to pick up our rental RVs. After receiving the vehicle and going through the briefing, we head to the market for groceries for the upcoming week (later we will have other markets to buy additional items). Having gathered everything we need, we make our way to Banff National Park. On the way there, for a while, we will observe three peaks with a rather "original" name – The Three Sisters) They seem like a gateway that lets us into the fairy-tale world of the Rocky Mountains. Along the way, we will stop at viewpoints to enjoy the surrounding beauty.

We check in at our first campground, connect the vehicles, and gather for a general briefing. Your tour leader will explain how to use the RV, introduce you to the camping rules, and outline the plan for tomorrow. If there is time left, we will take a stroll through the town of Banff.

After the walk, we take out tables and chairs from our trailers, prepare dinner, and gather for a traditional evening of introductions.

Today's travel distance – 150 km

Day 3

We have breakfast, get ready, and head to the neighboring Yoho National Park to take a walk along the beautiful Emerald Lake. Its shade is given by the color of the bottom. Thanks to the perfectly clear water, it can be seen almost without distortion. What makes this lake pleasant is the number of tourists, which is significantly less than at Lake Louise or Moraine Lake. If desired and weather permits, we can go canoeing (additional charge).

On our way back to the main road, we will be able to see the spiral railway tunnel. The thing is, when the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia were connected by railway, there was a problem with the mountain pass – the slope exceeded the allowable angle. It was decided to build this whimsical tunnel. If we are lucky, we will see a giant "caterpillar" of a hundred cars spiraling.

After that, we head to Wapta Falls. We change into comfortable shoes and walk through the forest to the base of the waterfall. Here we will have free time to take as many photos as we want.

We move to the campsite by Lake Louise. We gather for dinner and discuss today's impressions.

The distance traveled today is 220 km.

Day 4

We wake up to the pleasant rustle of pine needles, have breakfast, and head out to see the most famous lakes in Canada – Louise and Moraine. Thanks to the glacier, the water has a rich blue hue, and the clarity is such that even in the deepest spot you can see the bottom. It feels like you are looking through glass! At one of the lakes, we will rent a canoe and go take cool photos against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks and the glacier.

We have lunch and continue further north to Jasper National Park. Along the way, we will stop at the most beautiful locations – by waterfalls and lakes.

Today our camping is located near the town of Jasper. We will spend two nights in this place.

The distance traveled today is 300 km

Day 5

We have breakfast and head out for a walk in Jasper National Park. To be precise, we are heading towards the beautiful Maligne Lake, which seems to be squeezed between two mountain ranges. The rocky mountains have embraced it so closely that there is nowhere to lay a road along the way, so we leave our cars in the parking lot, switch to a boat, and set off on a cruise to Spirit Island. Along the way, you will learn about the geology, wildlife, and history of this stunning alpine location from local guides. On the island, we will have a short stop for photos, after which we return to our cars. Here, on the shore of the lake, we will set up our temporary camp to have lunch with a view of the valley.

After the lake, we continue east to a place famous for its thermal springs – Miette Hotsprings. Here, on the complex's grounds, we will recharge after the first busy days, share impressions of what we've seen, and simply enjoy our time without haste. Closer to the evening, we head to our campsite in Jasper.

*Alternative option for this day.

Rafting on the Athabasca River and a gondola ride for sightseeing in the afternoon.

The distance traveled today is 220 km.

Day 6

Today we have a planned ascent to the Athabasca Glacier. But not on foot, rather in a specially prepared all-terrain vehicle! Imagine a large bus with the chassis of a tractor underneath it. Those who were with us in Iceland will understand what this is about).

Our route will run along the most beautiful rocky mountains, right along the tongue of the glacier. Upon arriving at the final point, we will have time to feel the cold breath of the glacier, take a dozen bright photographs, and of course, following our Icelandic tradition, drink whiskey with a piece of millennial ice 😉 After that, we will stop to see the canyon from the Skywalk glass bridge, which is suspended at a height of 280m!

We will spend the night at a campsite with a view of the glacier!

The distance traveled today is 120 km

Day 7

We have breakfast and head out to two secret locations that the locals told us about, and then we move on to Peyto Glacier Lake. But this is just the beginning!

The main location of today is Takakkaw Falls. It is located in Yoho National Park and is considered the second highest waterfall in Canada. For comparison, Niagara is four times lower than it!

On our way back to the main road, we will be able to see the spiral railway tunnel. The thing is, when the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia were connected by railway, there was a problem with the mountain pass – the incline angle exceeded the allowable limit. It was decided to build such a whimsical tunnel. If we are lucky, we will see a giant "caterpillar" of a hundred cars spiraling.

After that, we move to the familiar campground in the town of Louis.

Today is our last day in the RVs, so we pack our things and organize a farewell party. We share our emotions and future travel plans.

The distance traveled today is 250 km.

Day 8

Today we need to return the cars with filled tanks by a certain time, so we get up earlier, have breakfast, and set off. A 2-hour drive and the Rocky Mountains, which we will fall in love with over these days, are already behind us. Ahead of us is one of Canada's main commercial centers – Calgary.

We return the cars, transfer our things to our transfer, and go to relax in a comfortable hotel. We will gather for lunch at the restaurant, and in the evening we will stroll through the central streets.

The distance traveled today is 200 km

Day 9

The tour is coming to an end. We say goodbye to the group and fly home.
