We arrive at Keflavik Airport, rent our electric cars and head to the hotel.
If you arrive early, you can spend the day at the Blue Lagoon thermal springs (paid separately).
In the evening, we gather at the hotel bar for a traditional evening of acquaintances.
Today we are going to explore the Golden Ring of Iceland!
The first location will be the Silfra tectonic fault in the Thingvellir National Park. Here is the junction of two lithospheric plates – North America meets Europe. It is incredible that you can literally move from one continent to another by land, and in the underwater Silfra Gorge you can swim between two tectonic plates.
Next, we will go to the geyser field in Strokkur Park. The most numerous groups of geysers can be found in just 5 places on the planet – Iceland, North America, New Zealand, Chile, and Kamchatka. Therefore, a trip to Iceland is a truly invaluable experience!
We will close the Golden Ring with the Gullfoss waterfall. The waters of the glacial river Khvity fall noisily from a 32-meter height into a narrow canyon with a depth of 70 meters. Icelanders consider it the most beautiful waterfall in the country.
Towards the end of the day, we move to the hotel.
The day will begin with a transfer to one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland – Seljalandsfoss. It is a very picturesque place, and its photographs can be seen in many books, calendars, and even movies.
Our next location is no less famous. Skogafoss is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland, a business card and symbol of the country. Its classic picturesque appearance is admirable. Due to the large amount of spray and water dust, on sunny and clear days you can see a single, and sometimes double, colorful rainbow.
Next, we will head to the Atlantic coast, to the Dyrhólaey lighthouse. This is the southernmost point of the island. Its name will be translated as an opening in the door. Here, the sea, destroying rocks of 120-meter-high volcanic lava, created incredible shapes. These are not just stone pillars, they form fancy arches and towers. The cliffs rise among the black sandy desert, and in some groups they run far into the ocean.
After Cape Dyrhólaey, the most popular filming location in Iceland, the black beach of Reynisfjara, awaits us. There are not many places in the world where you can see black beaches, and Iceland is one of them.
Transfer to the hotel.
Early in the morning we will head to the Lagoon of Icebergs. It began to take shape about a hundred years ago. At that time, one of the tongues of the Vatnajökull glacier almost reached the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. As a result of warming, the tongue receded from the shore, forming a lake with melted glacial water. Here we will see dozens of icebergs floating out into the Atlantic Ocean, and on the opposite side of the road, on the black sand, there will be blocks of ice scattered on the black sand – these are fragments of the same icebergs that the ocean current has brought to the shore. This is how the famous Diamond beach is formed!
From the Lagoon of Icebergs, we will go to a very amazing place, the photos of which will decorate our social networks. Glacial caves are temporary structures that appear on the edge of glaciers and look amazingly beautiful from the inside. Over the centuries, old ice has been compressed here in such a way that it contains almost no air bubbles. Due to the absence of air, the ice absorbs almost all sunlight, except for its blue fraction, which is visible to the naked eye inside the cave!
Transfer to the hotel in the town of Hyon.
Today we have to drive about 400 km and see a lot of locations, so we have a quick breakfast and leave early in the morning for Mount Westrahorn. If we’re lucky, we’ll see dozens of seals on the rocks here.
Our next stop will be a small lake, just a few centimeters deep, so we can take mirror photos against the backdrop of the famous Westrahorn mountain.
Afterwards, we will have a cup of coffee and cake in a local cafe, and then we will start our return trip towards Reykjavik. But it won’t be just a trip back, as we have saved no less exciting locations for the return trip.
The first stop will be the Svínafellsjökull glacier. It is located at the foot of the highest mountain in Iceland. Here, icebergs swim close to the shore, allowing us to take photos next to them and sometimes on them!
Our next stop will be the picturesque Fjaðrárárgljúfur Canyon. It looks especially gorgeous in rainy weather, as the moss that covers its slopes turns a rich salad color. According to the feedback from previous groups, this is one of the most memorable locations of the entire tour!
If there is time and desire, we will be able to show you a few more locations on this day, but for now we will keep them secret)
Transfer to the hotel in the town of Hetla.
Moving to Reykjavik.
Here we will be able to stroll through the central neighborhoods, visit the Whale Museum, which displays 23 full-scale models of cetaceans, climb the tallest building in Iceland, the Cathedral, and taste the national delicacy and, at the same time, one of the most disgusting dishes in the world, hakarl (rotten shark meat). You can also buy souvenirs and much more.

Depending on the time of departure, we may have a second window to visit the Blue Lagoon thermal resort or the new Sky Lagoon complex.
We move to the airport, return the cars and say goodbye to the country that will remain in your heart forever)
