Hello Africa! We fly to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, where we meet the group. We get our visas at the airport, change money, rent our cars and go to check into the hotel.
We will start our exploration of Mozambique with its capital city. After lunch we will have a short walk around Maputo – we will see the central square of the capital, the colonial fort, which was left as a memento from the Portuguese colonizers and see the metal house (The Iron House or Casa de Ferro) designed by Gustave Eiffel himself!
Next, we have dinner at a restaurant and get to know the group.
We have breakfast and leave for Eswatini.
The Kingdom of Eswatini (called Swaziland until 2018) is a small state in southern Africa, bordering South Africa and Mozambique. It is an absolute monarchy where power is centered in the hands of the king. Eswatini is famous for its rich cultural heritage, majestic mountains and picturesque savannahs. The country stays true to its cultural identity by preserving traditions. The Swazi people make up the vast majority of the country’s population.
Check in to a very atmospheric lodge, which is right on the grounds of Eswatini’s largest game reserve, Hlane National Park. This is where you can feel the real heart of wild Africa. You can spot different species of antelope just outside the lodges, and in the lake next to the restaurant you can see hippos swimming and rhinos sunbathing on the shore!
Are you ready? Because we have a very busy day ahead of us today!
We get up at sunrise and set off on our first safari. The most famous inhabitants of Hlane Park are the lions. And they are usually active in the morning, so first of all we will go in search of the king of all beasts! The park has a designated area where these majestic predators roam freely and live in natural conditions. Watching them evokes delight and a sense of the majesty of the wilderness. Cool photos are guaranteed!
After the safari we have a quick breakfast and leave for the cultural village of Mantenga. This is where you can feel the real Eswatini soul and get to know the traditions and culture of the indigenous people.
The Swazi are a welcoming people who have preserved their unique traditions and customs for centuries. The cultural heritage is expressed in songs, dances and colorful rituals.
We will see their houses, how life was organized in the village and get acquainted with real Swazis.
In the evening we return to our lodges and have dinner.
After breakfast we return to Mozambique and drive to the Indian Ocean coast. On the way we will have time to go through the photos as it is a long way to go.
Relaxing on the beach by the ocean is always a great idea, right?
You can sunbathe, swim in the ocean, buy diving tours, ride kayaks and relax with a massage. We highly recommend the last one, because there will be a continuation of the program.
In the morning we leave for the airport where our flight to Zambia is waiting for us. We get our visa at the airport, change money and go to check into our hotel in anticipation of tomorrow.
Good morning, Zambia! Breakfast and off to explore the capital city, Lusaka. Lusaka, the heart of Zambia, is located on a plateau in the center of the country, and is the epitome of a modern African city that bears the hallmarks of both history and modernity.
After lunch we leave for the airport. Flight to Livingstone.
Livingstone is located in southwestern Zambia. This city, named after the great British missionary and explorer David Livingstone, serves as the gateway to one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, Victoria Falls. That’s what we’re here for!
Checking into our lodge and relaxing.
Victoria Falls is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, and today our introduction to it begins on the Zambian side.
The waterfall simply amazes with its huge size and powerful view! By the way, the waterfall is very full in April, so we will be able to admire it to the fullest. The average width of the waterfall is about 1707 meters, the maximum width can reach up to 1950 meters, and the height is 108 meters. It is believed that its name comes from the British Queen Victoria, but in fact David Livingstone named this waterfall in honor of his daughter, who was the queen’s namesake. The waterfall is a symbol of Africa’s natural beauty, it offers incredible scenery that is sure to enchant you! The waterfall is surrounded by a national park where you can watch the wildlife, enjoy the beautiful views and take photos.
Today we have an excursion to Botswana, specifically to Chobe National Park. We will devote the first half of the day to a jeep safari. The park is known for its large populations of African elephants, which are among the largest in Africa. Herds can number up to several hundred individuals! In addition to elephants, there are lions, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo and antelope.
The Chobe River, which flows through the park, is a key water resource that attracts so many animals. The park is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers who want to immerse themselves in the untouched beauty of the African continent.
After the safari we have lunch (lunch is included in the tour price), and then a boat safari awaits us. During which you can see crocodiles, hippos, as well as bathing a whole herd of elephants!
In the evening we return to our lodge and discuss the busy day over a cup of aromatic tea.
Today we are traveling to Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls from a different perspective. If you wish, you will be able to fly in a helicopter and see the falls from a bird’s eye view. Believe me, it will be worth it!
Breakfast and off to the airport. This is the end of our big African adventure. Let’s fly home.
